August 1918 - Major P G Ross-Hume

Major Ross-Hume took over the command of II(AC) Sqn just as the First World War was coming to its end.  His claim to fame has to be that although the squadron was now part of the newly created "Royal Air Force" he was the last CO to carry an Army rank.  He was in command when the peace was declared and the tenancy of the squadron at their last operational base of Genech in Belgium.  In February of 1919 he took the squadron back to UK and their new home at Biscester where in September he handed over command to the first RAF ranking officer Squadron Leader More.
