Wing Commander Roger Elliott joined the Royal Air Force in 1996.  Following flying training he did a tour on 100 Sqn flying the Hawk before a posting to RAF Coltishall where he completed two tours flying the Jaguar GRmk3 which included operations over Iraq.  In 2006 he converted to the Typhoon whence he was posted to 3(F) Sqn at RAF Coningsby.

Promoted to Sqn Ldr in 2008 he was posted to the Air Warfare Centre where he was involved in the development of the Typhoon as a multi-role fighter.  In 2010 he returned to the Typhoon force as a flight commander on 29(R) Sqn where he was primarily responsible for QWI and Saudi pilot training wit the highlight of his tour being the deployment to Gioia Del Colle in support of operations over Libya.

In 2012 Roger was promoted to Wing Commander and posted to HQ No. 1 Group to the Typhoon operations desk just in time for the force to be deployed to RAF Northolt in support of the London 2012 Olympics security.  His task at No. 1 Group was a responsibilty for the rustication of elements of the Typhoon force to be established at RAF Coningsby.  A Staff course in Advanced Command at the Defence College from where he graduated in 2014 was followed by him taking command of II (Army Cooperation) Squadron on 09 Jan 15.

Wing Commander Elliott is married with two sons.
