Steve "Ramco" Cockram took over the reins of the squadron at the beginning of May 2003. His
Tornado credentials were established following his completion of flying training in 1985 when he joined 17
Sqn in Bruggen. Subsequently he served on 14 Sqn prior to converting in 1992 to the reconnaissance role and
joining II(AC) for his first tour of duty with the squadron.
A spell as Mission Director on the E3 AWACS in Iraq in 1996; a ground tour with the MoD followed by
Staff College in the US at Maxwell AFB completed the route to becoming the Boss of "Shiney Two"
in what are now known as "exciting times"!
In September 2005 Steve handed over the reins to Wg Cdr Andy Hine. |
