The tales of II(AC) Squadron come from many sources. There are those which have been
gleaned as a result of the reporting requirements that follow operational sorties; others come from personal
experiencies of those who served; some are the fanciful output of newspaper reporters and other
"investigative" agencies. However, one thing that remains a constant thread, whatever the source
of the story, is that the topic of "Shiney Two" is a rich seam to be shared and, hopefully, as the news
spreads, that this library of tales will expand as folks are prompted to provide their own bit of history.
A common denominator to these tales is of course the past serving members who by their deeds
provided the substance; the characters who by their contribution to our history provide an inspiration and a
sense of pride to us all. Those personal accounts, be they Obituries or just simple narratives
