The Mustang Album


The North American Mustang joined the squadron in April 1942 replacing the altogether unsuitable Curtiss Tomahawk.  It was an aircraft much loved by those who were priviledged to fly it; a reconnaissance pilot's dream.  With six wing-mounted guns it meant that not only could it be used in the attack role but it could take care of itself in defence as well!
