In addition to the Battle Honours awarded to the Squadron there has been the
gift of the nation's highest military awards to individual past members in recognition of their great acts of
heroism and bravery carried out whilst serving on the squadron. Such selfless acts have been an
integral part of the pysche of the Squadron since its birth and, indeed, the first award of an "Airborne
Victoria Cross" was made to a member of II Squadron, Lieutenant Rhodes Moorhouse.
His story and that of other bravery awards bestowed upon past Squadron members can be found as follows: |
